My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner. We both thought it was phenomenal! Our server, Thor, was great, he was very knowledgeable and personable. I had the oxtail (not always on the menu) which was phenomenal and fun to eat. They give you gloves because it's a bit hard to eat with a fork, this made it a fun experience. My husband had the lamb shank, and absolutely loved it. Both meals came with very well done mashed potatoes! We had delicious dessert that they change all the time, I believe weekly. I also loved that they kept the beautiful floor intact that was originally Hector's. 10/10 Highly recommend Born and Braised!

If you’re looking for a standout dining experience in Erie, **Born and Braised** is an absolute gem that brings a sophisticated, "fine casual" energy to the local food scene. From the moment you walk into their space on West 18th, the atmosphere hits that perfect balance—cozy enough for an intimate date night but airy and welcoming for a relaxed evening out. ### The Food The menu is a love letter to locally sourced ingredients and slow-cooked perfection. Here are the highlights you shouldn't miss: * **Duck Fat Fries:** Crispy, golden, and decadent. They are a mandatory side dish for the table. * **Colorado Lamb Shank..A modern take on a classic osobusco. Cooked to perfection. Falling off the bone delicious ### The Grand Finale Whatever you do, save room for the tiaramisu. ### The Verdict The service is attentive without being overbearing (shoutout to the knowledgeable staff who actually know the menu inside and out), and the commitment to fresh, house-made quality is evident in every bite. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Born and Braised is easily one of the most exciting kitchens in town right now. **5/5 stars.** Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates real food done right.

We had a great meal at Born and Braised. We used our fine dining card to get a meal free. Or custom cocktails were very good and made well. Our food was equally as delicious.

✨🍽️ If you're looking for a meal you'll be talking about long after the last bite, make the trip to Born & Braised. 🍽️✨ From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by the charm of a beautiful historic building full of character. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable meal. The food? Absolutely incredible. Every dish was packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. From the perfectly cooked steak to the fresh chimichurri crostini and handcrafted cocktails, every bite and sip was a reminder that this place takes pride in what they do. But what truly made the experience exceptional was Taylor. She is, without a doubt, one of the best waitresses and bartenders we've had the pleasure of meeting. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about making sure every guest has a fantastic experience. She made us feel like regulars on our very first visit. Great food. Amazing drinks. Incredible staff. A stunning historic setting. Born & Braised isn't just a restaurant. It's an experience, and one we'll absolutely be back for. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Let me start by saying WOW! Me and my boyfriend went he one time and knew we had to come back with how amazing everything was. Our second time back was valentines and let me just say it was AMAZING! I truly didn’t think it could get better but it did. It did not disappoint and the food is outstanding. You can tell the amount of love and talent that goes into it. Only every positive things to say and I tell people every time I see them to check it out. I hope to become a regular here because I would always be happy and fed!

We went for Valentines Day 2026 and were pleasantly surprised to learn it was a 5 course pre-fixed menu. Every option looked amazing, and between my wife and I we were able to pretty much taste everything available. I did opt for the ribeye upgrade, and it was cooked perfectly. Honestly everything was cooked with such great care and attention/turned out perfect. I grew up in MD/DC and traveled all over the west coast, had no clue Erie had any restaurants of this caliber. I thought Oliver’s was top of the top. I’ll have to come back for a normal dinner. Price point may be difficult for some, but you get what you pay for. Drinks/alcohol were reasonable! Our server Thor and the bartenders were all very friendly and accommodating. As a Marylander, I can verify they make a mean crab cake. The lobster risotto? I knew immediately that lobster was fresh. The little saltiness of the sea paired with truffle and creamy risotto - I still dream of this date night lol

I took my elderly parents to dinner - for their 64th anniversary. It was an adventure to get out as they have significant mobility issues, but everyone at Born & Braise was kind and helpful. They sat us at a table near the door and helped me as I brought each parent in and out of the restaurant one at a time. This place punches above its weight. The meal was excellent. This may be the best restaurant meal I have had while visiting in Erie. We had the gnocchi (outstanding) and salmon (perfect), and glasses of Chardonnay (very nice). Special thanks to Evan, Thor, and Anna for the attentive and KIND service, and thanks to all who prepared the delicious meal-they know how to cook!

First time at Born and Braised! This weekend’s menu is delicious! Fun environment and welcoming staff ☺️ Lobster guac, beef tallow fries, wagyu burger, tomahawk steak paired nicely with the bar items - Yori Wine Cellars cabarnet franc and a mocktail twist on their strawberry fennel fizz! Thanks for a great evening!

I had a terrific meal at Born and Braised. We started with the Thai basil mussels, which were rich, buttery, and full of flavor, plus the portion was very generous. For my entrée, I ordered the tiger shrimp and grits. The grits were creamy, the blistered tomatoes added the perfect touch of acidity, and all of the components of the dish came together beautifully. My friend ordered the lemon and honey chicken and said it was excellent as well. The atmosphere at Born and Braised feels intimate with a beautiful art deco vibe. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more of their menu.

First time here and it is absolutely amazing! I tried the pork parmigiano and their chef made marinara could compete with most dedicated Italian restaurants. The pork loin chop is perfectly seasoned and melts in your mouth. Truly a hidden gem in Erie! Edit: I posted this while waiting on my peanut butter crème brûlée. It was too good not to come back and add a mention and pic. The rich dark chocolate is a perfect compliment. Simply decadent.
